  Works Fine For Me

  Pros: Easy to install. Gives a wealth of tools to keep system healthy and secure. The automatic features are great. Highly recommend the product. I've never experienced any problems with installation and I've used the product since version six.

  Cons: System Mechanic Pro is not for the novice user. The Help index can be overwhelming for the novice. Experienced users should have no problem.

  Summary: I found it easier to use than Norton's and less intrusive. Works in the background without slowing up your system. Very easy to install and maintain. Automatic features are great and if you decide go manually works just as well. Highly recommend this product. I've tried Norton's similar product and I like System Mechanics much better.

  Problems, problems, problems

  Summary: Nothing but problems since installation. Start-up has slowed; Processing time is noticeably slower; The system ignores commands, as if SM8P is itself a virus and has comandeered the system. For example, restart and shutdown commands do not execute. If that is by design, it is not explained. Processes in Window task manager refuse to end when told to. Control over the system is gone and it operates as if the user does not exist. Running the PC accelerator does not improve performance. In short, I liked my system better before installing SM8P, but IOLO does not offer a customer service option to address consumer concerns. Hence, I'm stuck with a lemmon without a refund option or a technical body to communicate with.

  Buy something else!!

  Pros: It worked (once upon a time).

  Cons: It consistently hangs up my system, product hangs up when attempting to reinstall it, It got to the point it wasn't worth using!

  I am replacing all of their products on my computer.

  I don't give 5 stars for much of anything.

  Pros: I have used the program and found it to be very effective at both automatic use and manual choosing. Lots of ability given to the user to allow full use or skip over some of the features.

  Cons: I did not find that the program improved the internet speed by running their optimizer. If their is a flaw this was it - but it also did not slow it down either.

  Summary: If you choose an overall system performance improvement program - this should suit your needs quite well.

  Pros: none, this company lies about 24 hour support!

Unable to use for my upcoming business trip and now I have nothing to take and all the software i downloaded is lost! Oh, there is NO 24 hour support as falsely advertised!!   Summary: I would recomend this to a friend. I think others who have had difficulty with this program, have had more than just registry problems. Like a virus maybe? It is much harder to repair a virus problem after the fact, than it is to prevent it. My system boots up much faster and operates better than it has in years.

  does'nt deserve one

  Pros: i had problems for a verry long time but after 8 months into my year all parts now seem to be working fine

  Cons: no costumer sopport . i paid iolo for the year extention . they kept my money and didnt give me my year so in 17 days is gonna expire . so if anyone can get the other yeay i'll sell my key code . there a scam and fraud ....

  firewall and antivirus are a pain or useless.

  Pros: The rest of it seems to work well. the defragmenting works but takes forever, but what defragmenter doesn't with today's huge hard drives. Cleans reg fine. and other things.

  Cons: firewall blocks programs despite that I tell it not to. I told it to let everything through on one program and even make it immune to an internet lock. It still blocked it. Antuvirus blocks nothing as far as I can tell. hit 3 times.
