I hate it as In ( HATE iT)
by Hogtied on November 20, 2008
Pros: It will prints a few pages like five with out issue, and it will scan one page at a time and print that page. If it far worst then my fist ink jet from way back in 1994 or 95.
Cons: This unit will cause severe anxiety and panic attacks!!!
It sucks up several pages at a time printing on all of them, it jams as a matter of course. It cannot print large print job in duplex and it will it seems to just get tired and stops.Summary: DONT BUY IT if you need something printed that is important and time sensitive, and buy lots of ink because it will not tell you if it is low and ...
Summary: DONT BUY IT if you need something printed that is important and time sensitive, and buy lots of ink because it will not tell you if it is low and you can not pull it as it does not have a window to see how much is left plus the ink cartage will need to be thrown away because it will not let you put it back in as the software will not recognize a used cartage..
Its been a nightmarish issue on more then one occasion when I fist bought it, and now I have to go out and buy a canon, I hate throwing money away.6 out of 7 users found this user opinion helpful.

Adequate for the price...
by Obidos on November 15, 2008
Pros: Looks, Memory Card reader, easy ink cartridge changing, never had a paper jam, good interface
Cons: Schizophrenic scanner, uses ink like nobody's business,

Summary: This printer came as a replacement to my HP Officejet 4215. Compared to my earlier one, this printer is superb. However, without using my older printer as a comparison, this printer is pretty good. It has a very shiny and cool look that reminds me of Mac computers, and has a memory card reader, which enables printing without a computer. Accessing the innards of the printer to change ink cartridges is easily done by flipping down a front panel. I have never had a paper jam with this printer, ever. The interface is very easy to use, even if the screen is a little small. Setting up the printer on my computer was so easy I really don't remember doing it. However, the only things keeping this printer from being really really good is the scanner. You don't expect much for a price like this, but the scanner's wierdness really is beyond excuse. Don't try to scan more than one thing without doing it very close to the time you scanned the last thing, or the scanner will scan half-way and quit. Then you have to shut down the whole thing and start it up again. That is, if you're lucky enough to have any response to the power button at all, in which case you have to unplug it for a while. And even then the odds of the success of your next scan will be as consistent as a dice roll. I use the scanning feature quite a lot, maybe more than most people, so if you don't use the scanner much, you'll be fine. When it does work, it produces nice scans, but it's getting it to work that's the trick.

Returned after One Week
by oakland6980 on April 20, 2009
Pros: Easy set up, compact, wireless
Cons: Becomes unresponsive once it goes to sleep, after a week a printing already could tell it was getting low on ink. Color inks are all together meaning one color gone all needs replaced.
Summary: Not a good printer didn't work. returned after a week. Bought an Epson Artisan 800. love it so far. if your willing to pay more get that.

If u can get it to work great, but not worth the time.

Summary: I have had problems with this printer from day one! It will not work! If it prints, it won't scan. If it scan's it wont print. For random periods of time it will work like a dream but if u have any kind of problem with it, expect to be trying to find or fix the problem for a good half hour to an hour. And let me crush any spec hope u have for tech support, its awful. If u opt for just looking at the trouble shooting page instead of talking to someone the site will tell u to unplug it for approx. 2 to 3 min then turn it on again but more often than not it wont turn back on! Sometimes I will come back hours or days later and it will randomly turn on again. I am a freelance artist and run a business from home. I cannot tell you the incredible frustration I have felt using this machine while trying to finish a project. I have had bad printers in the past but have never dealt with this level of aggravation before. Because of this experience I will NEVER again buy another HP printer. If I could give this product 0 stars I would.

Much cartridge trouble. Terrible.
by buffaloblake on October 29, 2009
Pros: Relatively inexpensive.
Cons: The HP software suite is useless. I continually get errors that the printer doesn't recognize the ink cartridge. And I'm not using generic cartridges. I'm using HP cartridges.
Summary: I honestly wouldn't recommend this to anyone I didn't hate.

A piece of crap!!
by skyhunk on September 4, 2009
Pros: This pronter has no redeeming features.
Cons: 1. Won't scan. HP Technical Support contacted at least a dozen times over the issue. Several times they could resolve the problem, but that was only until the next time I tried to scan.
2. Uses a lot of ink;
3. Paper jams. -
A piece of garbage!
by nah415 on August 23, 2009
Pros: It's cheap.
Cons: It doesn't work so it isn't worth the money.

Summary: This printer is an unbelievable piece of garbage. It is unreliable and does not work as it should. Every time you turn it off and then on again, you have to go through some ridiculous waste of time while you align the print cartridges. Did I mention it's a waste of time? Well, it's an even bigger waste of time when it doesn't work (which is most of the time) and you have to go through these steps repeatedly.
I have spent the past 3 hours trying to get this thing to work. The last time I turned the printer on, it worked. Now it doesn't. This is an exceptionally poor design and it's made in China. HP should be ashamed of themselves to be putting out such abysmal products. I have used HP printers in the past, but after this experience, I will never buy another HP product again.
Is this what happened with Carly Fiorina? Nothing but cheaply built products that don't last? -

Don't.
I bought this printer on boxing week 2008, really jazzed with the deal I got and excited about the multi functionality. It's now February 2009 and I'm fed up. The printer told me to take out a paper jam the wrong way. a piece of paper in the roller made it completely useless. Once I exchanged for a new one the software cannot detect the scanner. I can't be bothered. HP won't replace it. The Store won't replace it. I'm stuck with a chunk of machinery I don't wish to have. The printer is too sensitive to handle what my old printer wouldn't blink@ and the software is crap. -
