Much better than HP!!!
by jduffey79 on October 26, 2008
Pros: Wireless networking, easy and fast setup, and superior printing.
Cons: Cannot initiate network scanning from the printer. You must open software on PC, then click the scan button within the software. Very easy work-around, so no big deal.
Summary: I purchased an HP OfficeJet 6310 and was very unhappy with the print quality and the fact that you cannot access the files on a SD card inserted into the ...
Summary: I purchased an HP OfficeJet 6310 and was very unhappy with the print quality and the fact that you cannot access the files on a SD card inserted into the printer from a networked Windows Vista PC. After contacting HP countless times, following their useless instructions, and reinstalling the printer software (which takes forever on a fast PC), I finally decided to take it back and purchase an Epson.
I am an experienced Network Administrator and an avid HP fan, but they really need to learn their lesson when it comes to their horrible software.
I purchased the Epson and it was a breeze to install the software. It took comparitively little time to install and did not included the mind-numbing extra crap that HP includeds with theirs.
Once installed, all features work very well. The scanner allows you to scan to multiple formats, including .tif and a searchable .pdf. I scan all my documents to the searchable .pdf and it is extremely fast, even when creating the document itself.
The printer includes three individual color ink tanks and provides nothing but superior print quality over the HP. I printed a "fall-like" document banner containing leaves and pine cones, etc. with the HP before I took it back and then printed the exact same thing with the Epson; the difference was night and day.
To sum it up...if you're looking for a feature-rich, cost-effective, and high-quality printer for home or small office use, this Epson will absolutely not dissapoint. Buy it today!10 out of 10 users found this user opinion helpful.

Excellent all in one and very fast!
by NothinButTheTruth on October 3, 2008
Pros: The speed is fantastic, set-up was easy, wireless in a home with six computers is a dream.
Cons: It will not do reduction/enlarge with the document feeder and it is slightly noisy at beginning of print but not a problem.
Summary: Great vaule and quality. I have been an HP fan for 2 decades but over the past few years they have really dropped the ball. I'm glad some one ...

2 defective printers in less than a month
by Aaron_90260 on April 5, 2009
Pros: Excellent print quality, fast print speeds, easy to set up, easy to use
Cons: Not reliable, poorly constructed, Epson customer service is only open M-F, 2 units have been defective for different reasons, worked properly for 2 weeks but I've been trying to get a working replacement for a month!
Summary: Bought the Epson Workforce 600 at Office Depot in Feb. 2009 based on good reviews from smallbusinesscomputing.com. I was very impressed with the print quality and loved the features ...
Summary: Bought the Epson Workforce 600 at Office Depot in Feb. 2009 based on good reviews from smallbusinesscomputing.com. I was very impressed with the print quality and loved the features and the price.
About 20 days later the Auto Document Feeder jammed and would not work regardless of the type of paper used, how many sheets I fed, etc. I could no longer copy, scan or fax multiple sheets.
Office Depot was no help at all. I was a few days past their 14 day return policy and they were completely unwilling to exchange the unit for another Workforce 600. Their only response was to call Epson.
Epson sent a refurbished unit a few days later that would not recognize the Magenta Ink cartridge. The replacement unit was refurbished. I paid for a new printer and, less than a month later, I was now stuck with a refurbished unit that would not work. Not only could I not print but I could not scan or fax either. The Epson unit is a brick without the ink cartridges installed.
Epson refused to send another unit, sending a replacement magenta cartridge instead. I explained that I already tried three new Genuine Epson Magenta cartridges but they insisted in sending another cartridge which, surprise, didn't work either.
It is now April and I cannot print, fax, copy or scan with this very attractive and feature rich... time-vampire. Epson corporate promised to call on Friday but they did not. I'm now on my way to purchase either the Lexmark X7675 or HP J6480.
I've never taken the time to complain about a product but I am very disappointed in Epson and Office Depot. I understand that things break, a bad unit... or 2... can leave the factory, but when my time is wasted like this it's unacceptable. My clients will not stick around if I make them jump through hoops to resolve a problem that is my fault to begin with, why should I have to do the same as a client of Epson and Office Depot?
The Office Depot store manager even told me they are losing too much money from the manufactures on defective merchandise returns. How is that my problem? I trusted them with my money. Office Depot should drop the product lines of manufactures with quality control issues, not tell the customer that they are making the return policy more strict so that the customer is faced with dealing with the manufacturer.
Sorry for the rant. I've been purchasing and recommending Epson product, including professional wide-format photographic printers for nearly a decade. I'm very upset.4 out of 4 users found this user opinion helpful.

One major problem found
by cnet_newbie2012 on March 6, 2009
Pros: I haven't used all the features, but the print speed and quality are both very good, as well as the scan speed. Love the wireless networking, and it set up easily, compared to an HP model I set up for a friend.
Cons: Con: it takes 3 buttons to turn the power off! Nuisance! You have to push the power button off, then you have to quickly push the up arrow key to OK, then hit the Enter button. If you're too slow, you have to start again. Epson tech: no fix for this!
Summary: I think this will be an awesome printer, when all the bugs are finally fixed and it ready for market. If you leave your printer on all the time, this ...

Fastest, Setup Easiest, Best Printer ever had!!!
by zizouchannelis on February 20, 2009
Pros: So Fast, Printing Quality Amazing, Ideal for Home and Office Users.
Cons: only a Light Noise at the beginning of printing but this is not considered as a real Cons.

Summary: I was looking for a wireless printer almost for 6 months, i had tried 5 Printers Before, and this was the best hands down. I'm not agree with some reviews here saying "IT'S JUNK!" why? because it does not print papers with holes? Not everybody needs to print holed paper, and if it is the case then i suggest to make holes on the papers after printing.
I Dont know why CNet Editor's did not review this printer while is one of the best an it should be in the TOP 5 list no doubt.
As far as I'm concerned this is the best I've ever had. Highly recommended.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Fast Easy Wireless
by 996driver on January 6, 2009
Pros: Fast and Easy to set up. We are running 4 laptops, 2 PC's and an IMac on this printer and all are working flawlessly. I like wireless products that run the first time and keep running. The print quality is very good & I would buy this machine again.
Cons: Extra capacity ink is hard to come by locally so you have to buy it from Epson. Even Staples does not carry the high cap cartridges.
Summary: Very good price through Best buy. We purchased a laptop at tthe same time and got it for 129.99

Pretty fast wireless printer, decent output quality.
by pk_16 on December 6, 2008
Pros: Great quality for the price ($149). Fast. Wireless.
Cons: Paper handling (back loading not my favorite, prefer paper tray). Duplex printing requires manual intervention. Paper handling (adl, paper tray, output tray) feel a bit cheap. Text quality not as good as my HP 7310.
Summary: For the money, tough to beat.
The manual intervention for duplex is because I use Macs. There is no duplex capability for Macs, you have ...

Decent printer but too many faults
by lnduncan on July 28, 2009
Pros: Quick and decent printing once the priter is warmed up.
Cons: VERY noisy paper feeder. Once any of the ink cartridges run out, the printer stops. A color cartridge can run out, and you cannot even print a black and white page. You cannot even Fax or copy anything.
Summary: I like some of the functions, but some of the cons are too big to recommend this printer

On my 3rd printer since February
by sherriem71 on May 14, 2009
Pros: liked auto feed tray on lid for copies
Cons: Not enough space here. BEWARE of PAPER JAMS. It is the death knoll for your printer. It is poorly designed to access the jams and has been the death of my original printer & the refurbished replacement sent to me.
Summary: Bought printer from Office Max who, also, only had a 14 day return policy. So, called today about my replacement printer ink smearing issue that didn't clear up after ...
Summary: Bought printer from Office Max who, also, only had a 14 day return policy. So, called today about my replacement printer ink smearing issue that didn't clear up after 4-5 nozzle checks and head cleanings. Then it started jamming. Was told I only had replacement warranty as I asked for my $ back from Epson. I too use this printer to work from home and cannot afford to have to play 'switch the printer" every 2 months with them. If this were a car, they would have to recall these things for all the jamming issues that everyone seems to have. Basically I am being held hostage by Epson because they refuse to admit there is a design flaw and return my $ so I will have to continue to trade in. I had a $99 Lexmark for 10 years that never gave me as much trouble. Had an HP for 6 years that didn't give me this kind of trouble. Guess I should have gone with the brands I knew. Will NEVER buy another Epson product and will advise anyone that will listen against buying one as well. Printer is also louder than the HP that I had and a dust magnet. I copied a photo and it came out grainey with spots of color missing. NOT IMPRESSED.

Summary: After buying an HP printer and experiencing frequent paper jams, my only alternative was to return it and exchange it for a different printer. My two last choices were between the Canon Mx700 and the Epson Workforce 600. Well I don't think I could of made a better choice! Overall, I installed this printer in less 45 min. The instructions are very clear and concise. Since I installed the printer, I haven't experienced any problems with this printer. Its been about two weeks since I bought it, and I must say that, I am very happy with this printer. Take it from a person that is very picky when it comes to electronics, you will absolutely love this printer!!
