"Doesn't feed straight" on by jprible

Pros: Good price... That's about it.

Cons: Poor quality print. Definitely not good for photos. Feeds crooked most of the time. Print cartridges can only be order through Dell. Software is basic and provides limited usability.

Summary: Buy a Canon or HP instead. You can find one for just as good of a price, with a lot better quality.

"The worse printer I ever had." on

    Pros: Scans good

Cons: Scans one one page at a time.
    Doesn't feed straight.
Poor quality print, not good for photos.
This printer was free with the purchase of a computer system and still not worth the price.
My 20 yrs old HP Laserjet 500c still prints better.

Summary: I just can believe Dell put this printer out in the market, I will never trust Dell if I need purchase another printer.
When you see these printers been sold at less the $9.99 on Ebay it should tell you they a worth less that the shipping cost.

"Try this to prevent paper problems........" on by garebear6

Pros: Inexpensive, Prints B&W very well, scans well.

Cons: Printed colors a bit off. Paper feeds crooked & jams.

Summary: I had the same problem with paper allignment and jamming. THEN I started using good quality 24 lb. weight paper, NOT 20 lb. 20 was too thin and several sheets would jam in at a time. Try it. It helped some. So, does anyone know how much ink is in these cartridges? The high capacity ones cost more and seem to last, but it is very difficult comparing models and printers. Not often revealed on the cartridge or package. It seems like Canon inks are less expensive, but it's hard to compare due to their secrets.

"Good Value For The Money" on by DARRYLLADEVINE

Pros: Exceptional Photo's Quality General Printing

Cons: Cartridges Are Expensive, Slower Than Many Units, FAX Virtually Non-Existant

Summary: Over-all, after over a year of use, I will have to say that this has proven itself to be a wonderful value...IF..you buy the High Capacity Ink Cartridges. The Photo Print was actually better than most competitors, though slower, and the over-all print quality of all demands was above normal. The Scan function is crisp and images are shape, remarkable fact compared to other scanners. The major draw back, as with most units, is the price of the ink cartridges; and it is unfortunate that once the ink (supplied except for Photo) runs out, one is faced with whether to buy cartridges or just get another unit with ink included (most of us are finding that to be the fact with all printers, now a days). The cartridges say intended for single use, but we found several reputable Companies that do a remarkable job on Refilling, with a Guarantee. We had read the CNET reviews and concur 100% with their findings and consider CNET as the first point to check for any potential Buyer for a genuine, unbiased review of ANY product. As far as reliabilty, though build around the LEXMARK engine, we have had no problems with this units serviceability.
