Thank God for Costco Return Policy
by cal_mishdoob on November 29, 2008
Pros: Everything I read and heard said this is a great monitor and I was not disappointed with the final result. Games play great and you can view two documents, side by side. I love it.
Cons: Monitor 1: Four dead pixels in one cube.
Monitor 2: A smattering of dead pixels (5 - 10) scattered across the screen.
Monitor 3: A gray cloud of pixels (100s?) on the upper left quadrant of screen.
Monitor 4: Works great.Summary: The monitor (when not defective) is a great monitor, beautiful colors, great size.

However, I would suggest that you know the store's return policy prior to buying it as you might have to return it more than once.

Excellent HDTV Monitor
by blue55 on October 8, 2009
Pros: Clear, runs cool, brilliant colors, has a TV tuner, stereo speakers. In every corner of the screen, this unit is bright, sharp and clear. I have had this for 10 months now. Flawless operation.
Cons: Wished it had Picture in Picture and an adjustable heigth stand. The stand raises the unit 4" off the table. Would have preferred adjustable 4"-8" stand.
Summary: This is a vast change from a 17" monitor. I have a 17" widescreen laptop. It's good for what it is and does, but this is the montor to ...
Summary: This is a vast change from a 17" monitor. I have a 17" widescreen laptop. It's good for what it is and does, but this is the montor to have. Prices have dropped 150.00 since I bought this in Dec. 08. Very pleased.

Pros: -looks big and expencive-good osd buttons-easy to configure-like the remote-picture is ok-no ghosting-if u need tv and monitor isnt expensive-no dead pixels-teletext-parental control-sllep timer and alarm clock-no dead pixels
Cons: -no usb hub -no dvi kabel -hate the stand(stand is better with lg 2600h-pf- no wall mounting-

Summary: I have this samsung t260 hd and Lg w2600h-pf.Both of them i calibrated with calibrator spyder3elite and the picture is just the same. The text is the same just like movies are.Theres no ghosting in Lg,but theres no ghosting in T260hd either. Both of them need calibration just like all monitor need it.When monitor is calibrated the colors are ok.This two arent proffesional monitors so u need to know that black color isnt realy black. Its more like very dark gray.Thats because they use tn panels for fast response monitors suitable for gaming and watching movies not for digital design.Quality of the colors are almost the same in Lg and samsung t260hd.U cant go wrong no matter what ull buy.Lg is cheaper,so if u dont need a sexy tv and remote buy lg.If u like remote and no dvi kabel buy samsung for more money.T260hd looks biger and more powerfull

Great Hybrid
by silentlun on January 22, 2009
Pros: - Has 1 DVI and VGA just in case i wanted to hook another machine up to the monitor.
- 2 hdmi ports, I plan to hook up to my HD4870 graphics card to try out the HD features.
- 1 component to hook up with my XBOX 360
- DTV tunerCons: - The speakers are a bit weak
- Power "button" is not very sensitive. (just use the remote)

Summary: I bought this monitor because I wanted something I could hook up my Xbox 360 and my newly built desktop together. The colors of this is very vivid. However when you first turn it on the colors are a little heavy on the blue. Quick fix is to just go into the Menu and change the display settings to WARM. I turned off dynamic contrast because I found it kind of annoying where the black looks faded when the majority of the screen is displaying a black color. It displays my Xbox 360 at 1080P. Played Force Unleashed, Soulcalibur 4, Gears of War 2 on it. All had amazing colors and rendering on this TV/Monitor. Had to set the monitor to just scan to get 1080P if not it'll stretch it a little to 1900x1200. which is fine sometimes. You really don't notice the thin black bars when you start playing. The weak speakers can be fixed if you just hooked up some decent computer speakers through the headphone jack on the side. The HDTV tuner is average. I probably need a better antenna to get better Over the Air Digital channels. If you're looking for a mix of a monitor and TV, then this is a great choice. If you just need a monitor or just a TV, you're better off with another one.

I dont understand why my experience was terrible!!!
by Leomi421 on January 15, 2009
Pros: I like the design and the fact that it is a Samsung product. I like the features on it although I wish it was worth it to own this.
Cons: Picture quality is terrible. NO viewing angle. Not close to a good emough computer monitor and way off on a decent HDTV LCD.
Summary: I tried posting 2 reviews already and for some reason it doesnt show up. SO, because I dont want anyone else to have to deal with buying this Samsung monitor/...
Summary: I tried posting 2 reviews already and for some reason it doesnt show up. SO, because I dont want anyone else to have to deal with buying this Samsung monitor/HDTV and being very disappointed..................I will try again.
Basically I am a HUUUUGE Samsung fan and pretty biased about them. I love their HDTV LCD's and will continue to buy their HDTV LCD's until I get disappointed. Which is why I am writing this review.
I thought Hey......its a Samsung and the design is really nice and just didnt think I would be in for such disappointment. As soon as I recieved it, I immediately hooked it up to my computer. What an ugly picture off the bat. I tried calibrating the colors but never came close to what I expected and have seen with other monitors. STRIKE 1. Then I thought it was VESA compliant....and well, STRIKE 2. THEN I thought I would hook up my PS3 via HDMI cable. Picture was ooook, but nothing comparible to my Samsung 46" HDTV. Not even close and for all the specs provided, I truly expected more from this monitor. Where STRIKE 3 comes in, is when I barely moved away up, down, left or right from the screen, viewing angle is non-existent. There is absolutely NO VIEWING angle. Screen becomes dark and colors get really ugly and basically picture looks like crap.....WORSE than what it looks like at eye level.
Look, Im not a hater on this monitor. I cant be. I LOVE Samsung. But this monitor is absolutely terrible. It has some nice features, and the design is nice, but not worth the money. Luckily I returned it and after doing a little more research, I got the HP w2408Hh 24" monitor to which I must say, is extremely beautiful. Although its not a TV, I personally wasnt buying this Samsung as a TV anyway. I was looking for a nice computer monitor and again, the Samsung is NOT that.....its not even a good enough TV.
If you want a COMPUTER monitor, go for the HP w2408h (has a glossy screen for rich colors). Made my day and I saved money on it. I actually love the HP monitor soooo much that I purchased 2 of them. Oh and the gaming on the monitor???? Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Outstanding!

Summary: I bought this primarily to use with my MacBook Pro and it's everything I had hoped for in that aspect. The HD TV Tuner works well with an antenna and the overall look & feel of the product is outstanding.
I did find the lack of up/down tilting to be annoying but I was able to place it on a stand to get it just right for my preferences. You get every cable you might need in the box except for an HDMI, which is ironic considering you get 2 HDMI ports.
That all being said I'd high;y recommend this product. -
Brilliant!
by drewboy337 on August 19, 2008
Pros: Clear and crisp picture, + it can be better than 1080P
Cons: Pricey for a monitor, but cheap for doubling as TV

Summary: Great TV, Full 1080p has plenty of hookups. Great price for the size(found in monitor section at Bestbuy)so its cheaper than and 720p TV you'll see in the TV section, has a coax input which picks up 1080i digital signal without a box. Perfect for the bedroom or office! Yes I do feel this purchase is a 10 out of 10. I recomend to anyone who its looking for a TV and/or Monitor under 32".

Quick take (24 hours).... Good for PC display
by SpringfieldMH on December 25, 2008
Pros: Easy setup, looks excellent without any adjustments, for routine web browsing and FPS (first person shooter) games.
Cons: Have only had it 24 hours, so no track record/history to cite. Have not yet tried it for HD TV.

Summary: Just a quick note. Was in the market for a 24 inch display for my PC, ran across the Samsung SyncMaster T260HD at a local retailer, saw that it was 25.5 inches and included an HD TV tuner, took a quick look at the reviews and took a chance on it. Got it. Have had it hooked up for 24 hours, just using it as a computer display for regular web browsing and various FPS (first person shooter) games. Easy setup, looks excellent without any adjustments. I'm no expert.... and haven't had it long or tried it for TV, but I'm happy.
