The good: Inexpensive; easy to use; great black-text quality.

The bad: Prints text slowly; expensive toner; mediocre color-graphics quality; USB cable not included.

The bottom line: This HP is affordable if you want a simple color laser printer with wired networking, but it's sluggish.

Description: The HP Color Laserjet 2600N is an 8 ppm, color laser printer. Compared to other color lasers on the market, it is very inexpensive at around $370. This unit features 600dpi.

Pros: This printer supports color at a resolution of 600 dpi x 600 dpi. This printer is capable of being directly connected to an ethernet network and operating as a standalone print-server.

Cons: Only prints at 8 ppm speed, which is slower than some similarly priced lasers. For example, the Xerox Phaser 6180/N , at around $410, prints at 26 ppm speed. This product does not support two-sided printing.

Suitability: A color laser printer, suited for printing images, presentations, as well as documents in color. This printer is capable of accepting pages up to legal (8.5 in x 14 in) and A4 (8.25 in x 11.7 in).

Value: In general, this laser printer's features seem a bit weak, even for its very inexpensive price.
