Though Toshiba sells four different versions of its midsize, copper-colored Satellite M65 laptop, all include virtually identical parts: a 1.73GHz Intel Pentium M 740 processor, 512MB of fast 533MHz memory; an integrated Intel 915GM graphics chip that lacks its own VRAM, forcing it to borrow up to 128MB of main memory; a 17-inch wide-screen with a 1,440x900 native resolution; and a double-layer DVD+/-RW drive. The only differences among the four are in hard drive size (a big 100GB vs. an even bigger 120GB), Wi-Fi flavor (Intel Pro/Wireless 802.11b/g or 802.11a/b/g cards), and operating system (Windows XP Home or Pro). A few things you won't get with the Satellite M65 are Windows XP Media Center Edition and a TV tuner; for these and other cutting-edge technologies, check out the more expensive Sony VAIO VGN-AX570G. Otherwise, the Satellite M65 speaks loudly to home and small-business users who want a solid multimedia laptop without the exorbitant cost. Read all about it in our full review of the Satellite M65-S821.
