Pros: HAS HD TUNER AND BURNER
Cons: VERY DEFECTIVE PC - LOCKS-UP AND ACTUALLY LOST CONTROL OF THE KEYBOARD IN ONE APPLICATION
Summary: This machine seems to have been designed by marketing people. It is jammed full of features - some are absurd (like the "radio volume dial") The touch pad is full of hot spots and also includes another volume control. You can easily hit one of the hot spots and suddenly be somewhere you didn't plan to be. This "feature" was the cause of two hard lockups for me. I used it for a frustrating two days calling tech support about 4 times. When I clicked on search (find) in the main menu the keyboard starting typing gibberish. Finally it is very cheaply built, the DVD player/burner is flimsy by any standard. This machine is $3000 worth of junk.
Finally I do not agree with the CNET reviewer that the screen is so good (much less rate it the whole machine over 7!). It doesn't compare to my new $2000 Fujitsu which I replaced it with (which comes with a standard TV and burner) - and which I love. Everything works fine it is built solidly and is an excellent PC. Oh - I never had a lockup on the Fujitsu.
Unless you MUST HAVE an HD editing studio don't go near it.Updated
I forgot two other items in my first review.
1. The documentation is very bad. The "manual" is almost worthless.
2. Toshiba messed with Windows. If you click on help you get their version of help, not Windows help. Their version is like their documentation. I think there are other "Toshiba software customizations which explain the locking up and the keyboard problem I experienced,Updated

Pros: Bright and very sharp display, Sound is even better, cool dual pad mode, Fast and is a HD DVD Player
Cons: HDDVD drive is from the front and its heavy but doesnt really matter!!
Summary: Its a well rounded Machine; its a good gaming machine, a good multi media machine, and a HD DVD player. Good for watching movies on it(1080p) or on a HD TV(1080i). Good for listening to music. Big storage capacity and fast hard drive(5400rpm). Fast processor and fast Ram.
Its worth every penny!!!! -

Pros: Has everything a user can ever want, tv, tuner, video capture card, Harman Kardon speakers with amazing sound, 17 display with hi resolution and space for a ton of icons, descent remote control unlike those hp and fujitsu remotes, 5.1 audio card.
Cons: Closed cooler intake on both cpu and video card, i had to make few holes to let air go through otherwise my video chip would fry in few weeks. But all manufacturers do that so that you would go cash out in repair service for overheated gpu chip.
Summary: The lspaiser is a idiot really, because if you don't want touchpad hotspot to activate all you had to do is uninstal the driver than touchpad would behave like a regular touchpad. And seriously who uses touchpad when you have a mouse? All laptops have a terrible touchpad, because the touchpad itself is a lame invention. In overall 9 out 10 Because whilst the laptop is pretty powerful it is also pretty heavy at approx 10lbs, however this laptop is used more of a desktop replacement. Or a portable computer that has everything built in, and when you want to take it with you somewhere so that you wouldn't have to unplug tons of cables from monitor, speakers, keyboard and other wires. This is really more of a desktop replacement to save space and this laptop is very good yet it also costs good as well.

Pros: Great speakers,the Harman/kardon tottaly rocked! The system is running flawlessly.
Cons: The cons are just 1 thing, It is hell one heavy thing. It made it so difficult to move around. But hey,thats normal for any desktop replacement laptop!
Summary: This laptop has a nice built. The speakers are the things I love most about it. The speakers are just too good to be true.
And it is quite a FAST computer. But this laptop is not meant for those who travels or moves a lot. It is seriously heavy. Other than that,it is a great machine. -

Pros: GreAT on all aspects. Pound for pound the best!
Cons: The touch pad is tricky.
Summary: I use it every day and it's become my everything in one device. Still learning what else it can do for me. Buy one now!
