Product summary
The good: Sleek, attention-getting design; high-quality, adjustable 20-inch LCD; speakers offer crisp, rich audio; detachable Bluetooth keyboard and Media Center remote will work well from the couch or during a presentation; top-of-the-line components deliver high overall performance and competent gaming capability.
The bad: Absurdly expensive; TV tuner and some other A/V connections aren't built in; too heavy to be truly portable.
The bottom line: A striking feat of engineering that's sure to garner attention in a stylish home or on a multimedia-intensive sales call, the Dell XPS M2010 is simply too expensive and impractical to be anything more than a curio for the rest of us.

One thing is certain: the XPS M2010 is guaranteed to turn heads. Covered with subtly marbled, charcoal gray "soft-touch paint" that does a decent impression of leather, with the lid closed, it looks more like a piece of business-class luggage than a laptop. When you slide the two latches open and lift the lid, the black interior, chrome highlights, and glowing blue lights give the XPS M2010 the sleek look of a high-end stereo component. Despite its many movable and removable parts, we found the laptop solidly constructed and easy to open and close, though the paint starting peeling at one of the corners after some rough play.
Dell says that the XPS M2010's footprint takes up less space than a typical desktop computer; we're not so sure. Measuring 16.75 inches deep, 19.25 inches wide, and 3 inches thick, the XPS M2010 is definitely larger than any other late-model, desktop-replacement laptop we've seen, including the 19-inch Falcon Northwest, and even business systems such as the Lenovo ThinkCentre M series, are all considerably more compact, though far less easy to quickly pick up and move. That said, between the display, the CPU, and the keyboard, the XPS M2010 weighs 18.3 pounds; with its bricklike AC adapter, it reaches 20.8 pounds. Though it's more portable than almost any desktop PC, it's simply too heavy to regularly carry any further than from room to room or out to the car.
Dell's line of UltraSharp LCDs is highly regarded, and the XPS M2010's glossy 20-inch (diagonal) display won't tarnish its reputation. The display is quite bright; it scored an above-average 230cd/m² on our Minolta luminance meter, and its 1,680x1,050 native resolution offers a nice balance between detail and screen real estate. While most laptop displays can swing only open and shut, the XPS M2010's is considerably more adjustable, able to sit at a 90-degree angle to the keyboard, be brought up to 10 inches inward, and tilt about 65 degrees upward. With eight speakers and a built-in subwoofer, the XPS M2010 can hold its own as a dedicated home stereo; it delivers rich, clear audio with more low-end sound than any other laptop we've seen, though it didn't get as loud as we would have hoped.
Two of the coolest things about the XPS M2010 are its detachable keyboard and Media Center remote. The keyboard, which is held to the base magnetically, is full size and reasonably comfortable to type on and includes a touch pad and mouse buttons, a dedicated number pad, and a complete set of multimedia controls. Once separated from the body, we were able to use it to type and navigate from about 18 feet away (via its built-in Bluetooth radio). The XPS M2010's remote has all of the standard Media Center features, as well as a small LCD screen that displays music and video track information; notably, it also has a built-in microgyroscope that lets you wave the remote at the display and control the cursor, sort of like a magic wand mouse. A separate Bluetooth mouse is also included.
For a Media Center PC, the XPS M2010 has a decent array of built-in multimedia features and connections; highlights include an adjustable 1.3-megapixel Webcam and integrated microphone placed above the display, for videoconferencing; two media card readers that support a total of 13 formats, including SD and CompactFlash; and a DVI output for connecting to external displays. A handful of additional, high-end A/V connections--such as SPDIF and analog 7.1 audio--can be made via the few included dongle cords. The XPS M2010's most significant omission is a built-in TV tuner; Dell offers a small, external single-channel USB tuner as an option (the exact price was unavailable at the time of this writing, but we expect it to be about $100).
Our $4,675 top-of-the-line XPS M2010 test unit came configured with an extremely high-end set of components: a 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo T2600 processor; 2GB of DDR2 SDRAM (667MHz); a high-end ATI Mobility Radeon X1800 graphics card (that's just one step down from ATI's top-of-the-line GPU) with 256MB of video memory; and two big 100GB, 7,200rpm hard drives (Raid 0). The $3,500 base configuration includes a slightly slower 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo T2400, 1GB of RAM, and 80GB of hard drive space. In CNET Labs benchmark tests, the XPS M2010 delivered a respectable overall performance, completing most of our dual-core multimedia tests slightly faster than the other Intel Core Duo laptops we've tested, all of which had slightly slower processors and often half as much RAM. The XPS M2010 also proved itself an able gaming machine, turning more than 60 frames per second (fps) in our Doom 3 and Quake 4 tests, though just 31fps in our F.E.A.R. tests. Though it's not the best gaming machine on the market (for that, look to Dell's own XPS M1710), the XPS M2010 will easily shoulder any multimedia or productivity task you throw its way. Though the XPS M2010 is too heavy to carry too far from a wall socket, its 12-cell battery lasted for more than 2 hours while sitting mostly idle on our desktop; we'll be running MobileMark 2005 on it today to get a better idea of its real-world battery life.
Though Dell has moved to a 90-day warranty on its less expensive models, the company covers all XPS products with an industry-standard one-year warranty, which provides free parts and labor with mail-in service. For a $3,500 notebook, we think Dell should offer a longer support contract with less expensive upgrades. You can get help through Dell's 24/7, toll-free telephone line for as long as you own the laptop. Dell offers a special tech-support number exclusively for XPS owners, staffed by reps who can provide help with the latest games and technologies. The company also has a support Web site with downloads, FAQs, and hardware-specific user forums.

worst computer I've ever owned
Pros: I like the full keyboard and the design.
Cons: It has totally shut itself off twice in the last month with zero warning and I'm unable to get it to boot back up. I'm unable to download from FF or IE without the app closing. BAD experience with this computer.
Updated on Jun 26, 2009Now I'm having problem with the clock not working. I've been told that I have to re-install windows. Are you kidding me? Like I have time to do that! And today, while running a DVD on it, I get device stopped responding -- -the screen goes black and then randomly comes up to a different scene. HELP! How can I replace this piece of junk...my $4500 paperweight!!! DO NOT BUY THE DELL XPS 2010. IT IS JUNK.

XPS M2010 SUCKS !
Pros: Very impressive appearence
Cons: DELL technician spent more time with it than we did.
Damanged cosmetics (best feature; it turned out) while in repair.
After paying dearly for the product, DELL Tech Support is non-existant unless we pay MORE.
For the record, a laptop should fit on your LAP and a desktop should fit on your DESK.
DELL hit a homerun with this one; the money just keeps rolling in. People that bought it can't afford to replace it with all of the repair costs.

Hardly used and hardly works!
Pros: It's big an impressive.
Cons: I went through two of these things until my warranty ran out, now I'm stuck with a giant paper weight.
I'll never buy their products again. They don't know what they're doing. I spent months with them replacing one part after another, until they just replaced the whole unit with a new one. And ultimately this one failed too.
Just a big waste of my time and money!

A mobile desktop with amazing video size and clarity
Pros: Hinge allows you to adjust the display as if it was a separate component
Detachable keyboard lets me move away from the unit.
Mobility allows me to take my desktop with me.
Cons: Weight obviously, and a form factor that will make it difficult to bring on a plane.

Unreliable
Pros: Great screen, fine performance when it works. Attractive design.
Cons: Totally unreliable, constant meltdowns. Adequate but not great for gaming.
Dell support has actually been pretty good, but for $4000+ I didn't expect to need their services so often!
I'm utterly disappointed. If this is one of Dell's top of line products...

First computer crashes, second computer DOA
Pros: Looks good
Cons: Crashed due to conflict with factory-installed antiviral software (PC-Cillin 14). Replacement computer won't even start!
The solution was a replacement XPS: the replacement computer was a total flop. It does NOT appear to be new, and we have paid fora new computer! Second, the power light flashed blue for an instant when it was turned on, then promptly died. Technicians walked us through this one as well, and finally wanted us to remove the backplate of the computer. This is where we stopped, and are now packing up the laptops to be shipped back to Dell. We hope they cover the shipping, because this whole purchase has been a travesty from the beginning. Not what I would expect from this company.

A Portable Desktop, NOT a laptop.
Pros: Wireless everything, massive screen with great picture
Cons: Windows Vista
I would of liked Dell to offer XP still, however, they opted to offer Vista only when I got mine. Vista has its good points but right now a lot of its "features" seem to cause more problems then they solve. Also, an affordable carrying case for when I do go on trips would of been nice. The current one cost $250 and, Ive heard, is too big to be carry-on luggage on an airplane.
A great buy, if you can afford one.

An excellent machine
Pros: Display, excellent remote, ergonomics
Cons: Poor sound quality, not cheap
External speakers are a must for reasonable music playback though - the inbuilt ones don't cut it.
Hope I remain lucky, but so far so very, very, good!

a disaster of a product
Pros: biggest laptop you can buy
Cons: huge hardware and software issues
The fact that it does not have a PCMCIA slot is just the start of the troubles you will have with this machine.
Stay away from this one!!! The worst computer Dell ever created.
This lemon of a computer is why there need to be consumer protection laws for computer buyers. It is the buggiest piece of **** I have ever bought. $4500 down the drain. Dell should have issued a voluntary recall on this product and the fact that they have not is proof that there need to be consumer protection laws for computer buyers. With the latest Windows Vista update my piece of **** Dell M2010 has now stopped working entirely. Without exageration I have spent more time troubleshooting the computer than doing work on it. My last Dell without any doubt. Stay away from this ****** company!!!

As a student, I laughed
Pros: Blu Ray Disk
Cons: Size, weight
As a student, I looked at this "portable" and laughed. I use my laptop everyday in class. I want something that I can throw in my backpack and walk all over campus without sweating under the weight of an 18lb laptop plus books. But I really don't have to worry about that because at 20 inches, I can't fit it in my backpack anyway.
The price doesn't scare me, but if I'm going to pay $4,000 I want something thin and light - something truly portable.
p.s. Instead of buying a "laptop" that would just collect dust on the desk in my room (a.k.a XPS M2010) I'll be buying a laptop I can really use (a.k.a 17" Mac Book Pro) in October.

Beautiful concept , expensive, but problems!
Pros: A true portable desktop with an awesome screen.
Cons: Expensive plus Bluetooth Keyboard and mouse problems!
Great XPS tech support from Dell but couldn't fix the problem (they tried everything). There seems to be a bluetooth problem with Vista Home Premium that drivers and returning the computer to factory settings couldn't fix.
I will look to a XPS desktop next as I am happy with Dell and LOVED that big, beautiful clear screen. Also the installed video camera had a very grainy, poor clarity picture even after all the adjustments. (I am getting full refund from Dell with paid shipping from my door)

Great laptop
Pros: cool design, big screen
Cons: expensive, heavy
I must say what more can you expect? It has awesome upgradeable features and a nice wide screen. The only sad thing is that not everyone can afford it so I don't think a lot of people will have it. The only reason I give it a 9/10 is because I don't own it and it's far too expensive in my opinion.

Incredible Laptop
Pros: Big Screen Very fast and 220 gig raid
Cons: Weighs a ton. But I knew it when I bought it.
What I bought it for was it's 4 gigs of ram, super cast cpu and 20 inch screen. That I love. It is brighter then my Dell 24 inch monitor. There is nothing about this that I don't like..
I think most of the complainres don't even own it.
If you want a great powerful laptop with a 20.1 inch screen this baby is for you.
The detatchable keyboard is great. But my friend hates the way the keyboard detatches. you do have to be on a flat surface when you ope this up. other then that small problem. It is one of the best laptops I have ever owned. It's like getting to carry a full desktop system wherever you go.

Great machine when it is working - impossible for Dell to fix.
Pros: Styling, keyboard, screen
Cons: Dell doesn't repair this model or stock replacement parts
While this is a great machine to use when it is working, I wouldn?t recommend it to anyone that needs reliability. I understand that things do occasionally break down, but without the ability to supply spare parts, Dell doesn?t provide their customers with any option other than just wait it out. And the warranty that they sell for ?Nights and Weekends? as well as the ?Next Business Day? fix are only valid if they have the parts available, so the fine print on those contracts really makes them relatively useless.
I have learned my lesson here. I wanted the slick new machine, but I would have been better off purchasing a unit that Dell sells more of than they do of the M2010. That way when a repair is needed, they will have the parts available.

Not a laptop so stop bashing it for that
Pros: Display and detachable keyboard
Cons: Weight and price
Know that we have established what it was made for and who would use it, the pros can go on and on. The display size is great and the power and sound is everything you could ask for. The remote is fun to use and the multimedia potential is at the top of the list.
The cons or short but there is a few to mention. A built-in TV tuner can make some mad and the graphics card is good but not the best on the market. Some say the battery life is a little low but for the shear size it looks pretty good to me. The price is a bit high but if you buy a laptop once every five years or so then it's not so bad. The weight is a little high for what it is but shouldn't be considered a buy killer.
I've had laptops in the past that just sit on my desk. In the rare event of me moving them, they find their new home on another desk. If you are looking for a real "laptop" then this is not the one for you. If you are one of those people who has a laptop that has lots of power but rarely use it as an actual "laptop" then this IS the product you want.

Amazing! Portable video editing studio
Pros: Power, Wow factor, ease of use
Cons: Too good looking...
I shoot and edit videos and usually use a desktop XPS when I get home. With this machine I can edit on the road.
It's not too heavy and the time for the keyboard and mouse to connect are reasonable.
The only bad part is that you have to go to the airport early. I was stopped by a few TSA people that wanted to know everything about it. I was already through security and they were on break. Also, the guy checking me in to my hotel wouldn't take my credit card until I showed him the computer. It is definitely a show stopper!
Amazing power. My compliments to the designers...

Only for PROS!
Pros: Big & Bright 20.1 LCD and bluetooth keyboard.
Cons: Power brick is HUGE! Over priced.
Yes this lap... luggable is at 20+ pounds when combined with the double sized power brick. But this is all worth it since I can now get rid of my extra monitor and Altec speakers from my desk since this lil monster can replace both.
The pros: The clarity and brightness from this 20.1" LCD is amazing and reminds me of an Apple. The built-in 8 micro speakers and subwoofer is clear and is loud enough to be heard over an office full of sales rep. The best feature for me is the GYROSCOPIC media remote that can control the cursor by waving the remote in the air. What's also innovative is the Bluetooth keyboard that has a built-in touchpad and dedicated media and volume controls.
The cons: This unit is heavy and a lil awkward when I want to place it down. It's a lil thick and when placed on my lap, the two bars that make the handle would gouge into my thighs. The most annoying thing is that the detachable keyboard has no locking features and must be placed on a flat surface to lock the unit properly.
In conclusion I have to say that it is well worth the price for me and others like me to not squint at our minuscule LCD and maxed out resolutions. But for the regular folks? just hush and stick with your normal laptops because you?ll never need this and you won?t ever see the full potentials of a walnut.

WARNING: cheap video resolution = no HD 1080i support!
Pros: Awesome concept
Cons: Dumb-ass cheap video resolution ruins execution
A max resolution of 1680 x 1050 means you can't even display HDTV 1080i on the screen.
What a joke! Whatever retarded executive made the decision to try to save a couple dollars sneaking in a cheap-ass video in an otherwise magnificient machine should be fired, shot, then forced to work at Apple (in that order)!
Fix the video to support a decent 1900x1200 resolution and add a HD-DVD and I'll be the first to buy one. But for now, "early adopters" beware!

Wonderful system. I only have a few minor complaints.
Pros: Screen size, great sound and video, slot DVD drive, wireless mouse and keyboard....and many other awesome features. to many to list here.
Cons: its size and weight is a bit inconvenient. the wireless mouse and keyboard take a few seconds to connect. this is a bit annoying. and the computer seems to take a bit longer time to boot up.
i do have a few minor complaints which i will expound on first. as many other people have said, its size and weight can be a bit inconvenient. however, i walked it down the street on sunday to show it to some people and it is not too difficult to carry. i also have tried holding on my lap for a period of time and while it is heavy it is nothing unbearable. tommorow i will be going out of town so i will get to find out how well it travels. also, the wireless keyboard and mouse do to a couple seconds to connect when you first turn it on, wake it up, or get on the computer after it has been idle for a while. this can be a minor annoyance. finally i seems to take a bit longer than usual to boot up.
However, in my opinion, the pros far out weigh the cons. this system has many, many awesome features: the 20.1 in. widescreen monitor and the great sound (it has 8 speakers and a subwoofer) and video make this computer wonderful to watch movies on. the slot DVD drive is very cool. it opens with a touch button that glows blue when pressed. the computer also has two sets of media buttons: one is beneath the DVD drive and are like the eject button: touch buttons that glow blue when pressed. the second set of media button are going down the right side of the keyboard. having two set is really nice because you find after a while the one set is better at certain functions than the other. there is a media center button right next to the power button on the computer. you can use this to watch movies and view pictures and videos even when the computer is off. i am assuming that this would save battery power. the computer also comes with an internal wireless card which is very nice when compared to the external one i used with my old laptop. the computer also comes with a really neat remote that you can use to choose and play music, control movies and tv (if you have tvtuner), and even control the mouse pointer. while i haven't tried these yet the system have various audio and video connection which you can use to connect the computer to a home theater system among many other things. the system also come with alot of programs that are fun to play around with such and windows dancer and party mode.

Bad Job but a great idea
Pros: The right direction
Cons: Abysmal execution
For such an incredibly enormous package at such a ridiculously lofty price, Dell sure left out a lot of stuff. How could they not put in a TV tuner?
It ugly. Dell never did have any style or imagination I suppose. I would like to have seem a revolutionary design wrapped around this thing to help justify the price.
Still, if you're spending Daddy's money or you actually do work but spend all your disposable income on gaming, this will allow you to feel like you're "cutting edge", at least for a few weeks until somebody else , like Apple, does the same thing, only much much better. I hate to admit it, but with two off-the-shelf programs for running native Windows games, Apple has a good chance at selling units to gamers whose games aren't yet made for MacOS.

Good idea, done the Dell way.
Pros: Revolutionary take on laptop design
Cons: Too heavy, too big, 2hrs battery (Max), no future
Next, the size. IT IS MASSIVE!!!! IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE PORTABLE!!!! Why would you bother selling a notebook that CAN'T BE USED AS A NOTEBOOK!!!! It is clear this model should have been marketed as a portable desktop, not a notebook. They could have had a very good competitor to the iMac. But no, they call it a laptop. Dumb Dell philosophy.
Battery life is rated at an abysmal 2hrs MAX. With all those DESKTOP components its not a wonder why. A 512MB video card? In a laptop? Do you want MORE laptops to catch on fire???!!!! Foolish Dell.
Finally, the keyboard and screen locking mechanisms are the flimsiest and most unsafe latches I've ever seen. It will break, its not a matter of if, its a matter of when.
Wait, I have more to ***** about: the speakers! Yes, a great 7.1 system is just what we need when ALL THE F***ING SPEAKERS ARE ALL IN FRONT OF YOU!! DOESN'T THAT DEFEAT THE PURPOSE OF A 7.1 SYSTEM!!! Also, Im struggling to find a reason why a 7.1 system with a bunch of tiny little tinny speakers would ever outdo my 2.1 Harman/Kardon Soundsticks, or even their cheap nasty sibling, the Creature speakers. Why, Dell, WHY!!! FOOLS!!
The trackpad in the portable keyboard is a good idea, but considering how imprecise trackbads can be, adding the delay caused by the Bluetooth is sure to cause infuriation and other problems.
Overall this is a sad, sad day for Dell, with a shameful brick of untasetful styling and bad ideas thrown into an expensive and hugely overpriced beast. There is no doubt in my mind that that huge 512MB video card UPGRADE (yes, you need to upgrade this computer a lot, it only comes with a 2.0GHz dual core, nasty hard drive, no tuners etc) will cause more fires and explosions from the burning pile of sh*t and failure that is the XPS M2010

Great concept for the future but pricey
Pros: Big Screen and compact its beautiful
Cons: Simply too expensive.
Its Great to see a move in this direction. I mean why do PC's enclosures need to be so damn big in the first place. The tower is based on old PC server enclosures. There is no need for the goliath tower unless your some expansion nut. Obviously there are concerns about heat etc, but laptop technology has come a long way. Why not start utilizing that with a PC design which is what this beauty represents.
Its just a bummer I'll have to wait for pricing to come down. This is the first generation and Im sure more config options will be made available at lower prices.
And no MAC users this is not comparable to the IMAC. The IMAC is another great concept in less bulky designs and kudos to Apple, but the horse power and features of the M2010 make an IMAC seem like a desktop calculator. Plus I prefer windows so for me this is great machine.

FINALLY Desktop Portability
Pros: Portable DESKTOP
Cons: Definetely Pricey
I travel on 3-9 month contracts, all over the world. This is EXACTLY what I need, desktop power that I can take with me and set up in what ever country I am in. So dont slam a system for a use it isnt intended or designed for. There are those of us out there that need to port around a DESKTOP. Now i can switch to a Sony Viao 10 inch screen laptop for all my portability needs and have a desktop where ever I am stationed.
And for all you apple lovers that seem to need to always validate buying one, great, I dont argue its a better system, but then so was the sony betamax tape, and where is it now?

Return of the (sorta) luggables
Pros: Big screen
Cons: Price, overall size, weight, usual Dell 'support'
If this 'laptop' fits anyone's lap -- the $3500 you'd spend for this machine would be better spent at a gym.

Pros: Big screen, portable desktop!
Cons: New concept in design, is not really practical for most uses.
Dell XPS = $3500.
iMac Intel Core Duo = $1300
Dell Inspiron Core Duo = $1000

The first true computer innovation since the tower.
Pros: innovative and versatile
Cons: expensive... excuse me, extremely expensive
And the styling is absolutely superb, it is definately raising the bar on that front.
But the problem is the price, i was hoping that two models would be introduced, one under the "xps" branding and one under the normal "inspiron" branding... but alas, that did not happen. This is the computer i have been wishing for for years, yet now that it is here i can not possibly justify the cost. I guess all that R&D costs big bucks...
maybe when the merom processor is introduced august, they will create a lower cost version for the masses, also a blue ray drive is almost certainly just around the corner for this system.
I guess i can not get caviar for the price bologna, oh well, the price of this gives me another reason to hold off for vista.
P.S. Do not get too upset about mac people camparing this an imac, they are just stunned by the styling, and are worried that this may convert people from the white shiny plastic boxes, which have been the reason for a revival of a dead brand... apple.

Pros: huge screen, detachable keyboard
Cons: heavy and expensive(what do you expect?)
I understand why you like Apple and I will say no more. But since Apple does not sell its operating system to any computer manufacturers, everyone else has to use Windows. Deal with it!

Hello? LAN party computer
Pros: Great for LAN Partys and Desktop replacement
Cons: Not what I would call a laptop.
Would like to chose between ATI or nVidia video cards eventhough the x1800 from ATI in no slouch. The tunner card for media center is a basic usb tunner with MPEG2 hardware compression. You can get it cheaper from other places online or a diffrent brand name.
The keyboard and touchpad are another thing. Having a fullsize removable keyboard is nice. If it uses bluetooth it might be an issue that plauge other bluetooth keyboards and mice. Touchpad, I rarely see anyone use a touchpad for gaming. It's nice to have but it will get in the way for most gamers.

2x iMac Price doesn't equal 2x iMac performance
Pros: You can take it anywhere, I hope you've been working out
Cons: Ridiculously large, Overpriced, Only 1.83GHz Core Duo
For $1299, you can get yourself a 17-inch iMac with the same processor, and half the RAM, but you could add even more RAM and take it past the base M2010 without spending over another $100.
However, if you're considering the M2010 then you'll likely be the sort of person that would want the 20-inch iMac, which costs $1699.
Comparing the two (Dell vs Apple):
Processor: 1.83GHz vs 2.0GHz
RAM: 1GB vs 512MB [$100 extra to match]
Graphics: X1800 256MB vs X1600 128MB
Hard Drive: 80GB (Huh?!) vs 250GB
If the 256MB graphics memory and 1GB of ram are matched up, the prices are:
$3500 vs $1874, a difference of $1626. That's $1626 for 200 ATi X's - from X1600 -> X1800.
I don't think ANYONE can justify paying $1626 extra for this, especially considering the ridiculously small hard disk.
I've not even touched on the design in this review, but I think it's safe to say that you'll have a much neater looking machine if you buy the iMac. NOBODY is going to use this as a notebook.

Great design. NOT similar to the imac so stop saying it.
Pros: Ridiculously amazing design, great features, solid performance
Cons: PRICEY!! Huge to carry
However, it is bogged down by an incredible price tag and a bulky design. I went to Dell's website and comparably outfitted one to the same specifications as my old Powerbook g4. When outfitted, it was over 4000 dollars!! That is just insane. But it does come with a pull-off bluetooth keyboard and an amazing speaker system for a computer its size.
Computer manufacturers will soon realize that 20" is just too big to carry around. It is not portable. However, I have not seen a design as good as this in a long time and I think if it is scaled down just a bit it will be a great addition to Dell's already gerat lineup of PC's.

Pros: Portable DEsKTOP, beautiful design, battery, great display
Cons: Prize...it is WAY too much...should be aroun 2000
i am a pc fanboy jeje, i would love to see this pc starting at $1500, maybe with less powerful videocard as an option or something. I feel it is a great step for dell in innovation, but dell's greatest strenght is not avaibable....its prize

Is this A joke?
Pros: 20 inch screen
Cons: Slow, Bulky, expensive
Yes it has Core Duo, but come on....a computer this size and NO SLI??? Alienware just fit SLI 7900s into a 17 inch laptop that also has the same hardrives, procesor, and just as fast RAM speeds.
At this price, you could easily buy the 17 or even 19 inch Alienware or get a Falcon or Voodoo PC which are all faster, better, more portable, and are simply better manufactuers.
This is one product that should have stayed as a concept...

Twice as Large & Twice the Price of iMac
Pros: The Best of Dell 2006 (Faint Praise Indeed)
Cons: Logitech's Cordless Desktop S530
For the same cost, you could buy a MacBook AND an iMac or a MacBook Pro & a Mini ... Why would anyone want an over-sized and over-price not-a-laptop & not a desktop machine ... even if you only wanted to run XP, why not get a laptop and an HP media machine and still have money left over ... so, I guess Dell is decided to adopt the pricing structure of Alienware ... but just the pricing portion ... Dell is fading faster than Packard Bell.

Move-able beauty.
Pros: One of the most unique hybrid computer types. All the power of a desktop, in an easy to carry design.
Cons: The price, but for all the micro power, is to be expected.
I hope to see other computers of this style, maybe as the price comes down it will start to drive a newer note/desk computer market.
I'm hopeing that a few people do get it and write their personal reviews here. And its doesn't look like an imac, its not as blocky.

iMac wannabe
Pros: Portable, nice remote touches
Cons: Not very practical
except the iMac is a lot better, and more practical in almost every sense.
Whose actaully going to lug this thing around? If you want a laptop, get a laptop.
Plus, whose going to spend nearly 4,000 for a computer, when you can get a fully loaded iMac for under 2,000 - which can also run Windows?
Doesnt make sense.
