"Is CNET as blind as Consumer Reports?" on by sbryant7
Pros: Deep blacks, screen burn protection, excellent case, great picture
Cons: Some noise in picture, regardless of signal
Summary: I am starting to have a negative opinion of CNETS review system. They rate the Vizio LCD higher than this, by the editor. I don't know how many of you have wasted time looking at the Vizio set, but the picture is TERRIBLE. Supposedly they are a partner with MAXENT, which is also complete low quality garbage. I work at Best Buy, and this Samsung 42" is our most popular 42" Plasma. It has a great picture, and much more realistic than the panasonic. Much of the noise can be reduced with tuning, such as turning DNIE off, and motion is SO much better than the Panasonic 42", where the picture becomes pixelated with any movement whatsoever. Like I said, there is some noise, but that is why you can find this TV for $2200, and not $3500, like the Pioneer. In my opinion, this is the best TV to buy under pioneer, PERIOD. Hopefully CNET can get some more responsible and honest editors to rate their TVs.

"Excellent all the Way!" on by csrusso
Pros: Great picture, easy setup, top value
Cons: Speakers of lower quality
Summary: As a very informed consumer, this unit
is an excellent buy in almost all the important categories: super sharp picture,
great color balance and brightness, beautiful
black bezel-less design, and great value
for the price. Compared to the Pioneer, costing
$500-700.00 more, I could not see any difference in quality. If you plan to use the
unit for a sound experience as well, you
may prefer the 4272, with better speakers. -
"Burn in, fixed on next gen plamsas? NO WAY" on by skinny12345
Pros: Very good picture on HD and Xbox 360
Cons: Burn in not fixed, Some menu options cut out when using a cable box
Summary: Well, I started out looking for an LCD TV. But after talking to a ton of so called experts. They all told me to get a plamsa. So I looked at the pros and cons and went with the Samsung hps4253. The tv had very good picture on HD and Xbox 360. But after watching standard picture, for about 2-3 days I starting noticing the picture wasn't centered anymore and the black bars were not even on both sides. So I switched the tv to one of its burn in protection modes. This one being called Pixel shift. Which turns the screen all white and moves the pixels around. What did I see but BURN IN STARTING. Total days I had the tv up to this point was about 5-6 days. Imagine after a couple of months. I just took it back for the Samsung LCD lns4051. The LCD still looks great on HD and Xbox. Standard picture about the same as before. So bottom line don't listen to salemans about plamsas. Couple other things to think about. Burn in isn't covered by warranty. Also Sony dosen't make plamsas tvs anymore, what does that tell you...

Pros: Picture, sound very good. Easy to set up and add components.
Cons: HUge energny consumption. No longevity. Closed captioning system problematic.
Summary: At the high cost of this item I expected it to last at least 5 years. Will not buy another Samsung.

"Really love this dispaly" on by ksteiger
Pros: Great image. Easy to use menus
Cons: Sound is mediocre, HDMI connector very weak.
Summary: I have been using this display to edit HD video using Final Cut 6. The only problem I ever have is in the SD images. The HD stuff looks stunning. (Bear in mind it is native 768 so you will not see any difference between 720 aqnd 1080). Havong said that, I guess the reviewer had a fight with his wife the morning he wrote the review...We can't ALL be wrong.
