"Poor performance, even worse customer service" on by tstodnick25
Pros: Picture was great for about 2 months, then mass problems
Cons: Burn in, ghosting, screen trailing
Summary: This turned out to be the worst electronics investment i've ever made. After only 2 months of minimal usage, burn in is now an issue. Talked with Samsung and they had me run several utilities in hopes of fixing it, but made burn in worse, and also caused ghosting, and screen trailing. Samsung would not cover anything - saying since they tried to fix burn in problem - they won't fix the other problems that are showing now. What a joke for an expensive tv. Both store and Samsung basically said too bad. I will never buy another product from circuity city or samsung because of their total lack of customer service.
TV's should not break down after only 2 months of minimal usage. -

"Returned 2 of 2 for defects." on by joelbxk
Pros: Form factor. Nice cabinet
Cons: Still problems decoding dark areas. Technical support lacking.
Summary: My 3rd Samsung (Has HP-S4243 and just returned 2 HP-S 4253). First set had bad artifacting in dark areas. Next two: Both had loud buzzing when changing channels. Second set had a 7" black vertical bar that would randomly change from right side to left side. Switched to a Panasonic TH-42PX6U and it works great but cabinet not as "pretty" as the Samsung.

"The Cnet review is right on" on by pg600rr
Pros: stylish, thats about it
Cons: see cnet review
Summary: So I keep seeing all these people who reviewed this, gave it high marks, and bought because the guys they asked at the store said to?? C'mon are you serious? The only reason that you were advised to buy this over the Panasonic was because they are trying to push these more because they have no problem selling the Panasonic. This came out before the Panasonic and was good at the time but the Panasonic set is way better. BTW do not take the pic you see in the store as what you'll see at your house. You have to sit down and set up the picture, contrast, color, etc. etc. If you pick a TV by 1.) Which one the sales person tells you to buy and 2.) What the picture looks like in store, than you are a fool.
