We have not reviewed the Vizio VU42LF, but we have reviewed a Vizio TV that's very similar. The Vizio GV42LF costs a bit more than the VU42LF, but they share the same picture elements and so should exhibit identical picture-quality characteristics. The GV42LF also has detachable speakers, virtual surround sound, and better compatibility with high-resolution computer signals.
