Almost perfect, only diminished by moderate noise.

Pros: Extremely easy to set up, simple interface, automatic backup and works flawlessly with the PS3 and networked computers for music, video and pictures. Allows for external hard drive connections, printer connection and simple upgradeablitiy.
Cons: Noise is a slight issue. I experienced some video lags when using a powerline adapter, but with ethernet it worked great. Definitely not something you will want to put next to the TV because of its loud performance.

Summary: If there is a better solution to network and back up personal computer data, stream itunes files, video files and pictures, I have not found it! Using the included CD, the ReadyNAS Duo is up and running in less than a half an hour. Want RAID redundancy? Simply plug in a SATA internal hard drive (3.5") and the device will use it as a redundant drive. Run out of storage space? Pull out one drive and replace it with a bigger one. Need the security of backing up the drive and storing it in another place? Plug in an external hard drive via USB, push the backup button and you are set! You can schedule automatic backups based on your needs, can access files from outside your network and even plug a digital camera directly into the unit and backup without needing to turn on your computer.
My only complaint is the noise, which is louder than my laptop or PS3. I originally set it up near my home theatre, which was not ideal. I moved it into another room using a powerline adapter and video lagged a bit, so I would recommend running ethernet directly between your router and ReadyNAS Duo.
As far as functionality between the PS3 and the ReadyNAS Duo, it works better than streaming from a PC, and is up and running right away. Access to almost all your media (a few file types aren't supported, but no big deal for most users) is right at your fingertips.
Using it as a itunes server works great too, although the unit does not stream itunes DRM-laden files.
If I were to make it perfect, I would add Netflix streaming capabilities and reduce the noise. No reason anyone should look at another solution, this thing is amazing!
Everyone should get in the habit of data backup, and the Netgear ReadyNAS Duo brings simplicity and peace of mind to even the least techy households. If that was its only function, it would be a success...

Once its set up, great addition to your home network.

Pros: More than just a file backup drive. Works very well with iTunes as a MP3 hub, and my PS3 to watch photo's or home videos.
The Shadow automatic backup software is easy to use with your networked computers.
Cons: Setup can be very frustrating. I spent two days getting my drive on my network. The interface is not very user friendly for someone unfamiliar with networking.
