Full security, great signal strength
by BrentD on December 8, 2005
Pros: Conveniently attaches directly to the back of the 360. Supports WPA, WPA2, PSK-TKIP and AES. Strong, stable signal. Very easy setup. Supports B, G and A!
Cons: $99 is a little steep (but FAR better than no WPA at $50).
Summary: Finally, a gaming networking solution that doesn't require me to compromise the security of my home wireless network. Bravo Microsoft! Hopefully, this will be a new trend (but I ...
Summary: Finally, a gaming networking solution that doesn't require me to compromise the security of my home wireless network. Bravo Microsoft! Hopefully, this will be a new trend (but I doubt it for some reason--I expect Nintendo and Sony's solutions to support only WEP...) Setup took all of 3 minutes, connection was rock solid. This is by far the easiest wireless config I've had yet.

Oh no! My Xbox 360 is now 1.5 inches taller. JK. I love it.
by gt2007 on December 1, 2006
Pros: Small. 1-5 minute installation, depending on how smart or dumb you are. Always On. It completes your LIVE experience. You can take your 360 anywhere where there is a TV & a wireless nonsecured signal.
Cons: Microsoft likes to give us choices....... how sweet.. It would have been better if they had just included the damn thing inside the 360. PS3 and Wii did good. (One clap for them both).

Summary: I bought this piece of white and gray beauty two weeks ago. I love it. It took me like a minute to set up. It actually took me longer to find some scissors and cut my way throught the damn packaging. Then there was the traditional one minute stare at your new product in your hands, in amazement that you have the damn thing. Then the installation process which should not exceed 5 minutes, unless your home network sucks or you're just plain stupid. Well, I have nothing more to say, except that I wish it had been intergrated into the system like the other two competitors did into theirs. Oh, and that I STRONGLY RECOMMEND The Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter to anyone who has a 360 or is planning to purchase one in the near future.
PS. Microsoft, you bastards. I could have spent the money I used to buy this sexy beast to buy two of your 360 games. That's all I have to say. I Love you MS.2 out of 3 users found this user opinion helpful.

Almost, but not quite, it adds an extra 20 - 30 ms of lag time to all games.
by tortch on July 20, 2007
Pros: allows you to play wirelessly, and allows you to play wireless system link with a neighbor
Cons: Signal strength is good, but not near perfect, which is required for lag free fps games
Summary: Everyone keeps talking about how they still have good signal strength or a good ping time while playing on it.
and they will say they still had 3 out of ...Summary: Everyone keeps talking about how they still have good signal strength or a good ping time while playing on it.
and they will say they still had 3 out of 4 bars online or something. but when playing games that actually give a real ping time, you will see that your ping will be 20-30 ms higher than if you used a ethernet cable.
Do you remember when wireless controllers first came out and there would be an annoying split second between the time you shoot, till the time the gun actually shoots, well its the same thing here.
To conclude, if you are a serious online gammer, you know that a split second is the difference between life and death, and the added lag of this wireless adapter will help you lose that fight day in and day out.
my ping went from being the lowest out of everyone playing with me, except the host, to being average, so if your someone that already has an average ping, you will have a high ping.
if you have a choice, just buy a long ethernet cable, you can order a 100ft cable for under 30$ online.
but if you are not into games where split second trigger pulls matter, and you only need it for streaming media from you pc this is just fine.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

SMOKING SOMETIMES
by bdepot on February 5, 2009
Pros: Supplies wireless to the 360
Cons: Seems 50/50 BUT my fix is to cut it on by the box not the remote.
Summary: This is a smokin adapter when it is working properly. Mine appears to work at peak when cut on by the 360 box and not the wireless remote. At times ...

1 nice piece of equipment!
by badazz2k8busa on July 20, 2008
Pros: anybody can set this up. very user-friendly. oh yeah, i forgot to mention, excellent price & range too.
Cons: doesn't come in black to accomodate the xbox 360 elite.
Summary: i love this little gadget. i have d-link dir-655 router, and they work great together. i set up my wireless network yesterday, and i have really enjoyed playing on xboxlive "...
Summary: i love this little gadget. i have d-link dir-655 router, and they work great together. i set up my wireless network yesterday, and i have really enjoyed playing on xboxlive "lag free". i love the fact that i can hook up at any tv in my house and get on xboxlive. for $99, you can't ask for anything better to get into the wireless world. i do own a xbox 360 elite, so it does look rather funny having the white adapter on the back of it. that is the only reason that i did not give it a "perfect 10".i'm hoping that microsoft will make it in black so everything on my system will match. if not, oh well, because the hardwire days are over for me. hello freedom!!!!!

An "OK" product
by BMWguy206 on February 5, 2008
Pros: Works well, easy setup, and is reliable.
Cons: Should be included in every Xbox 360. Price!
Summary: I bought the wireless adapter to play Gears of War online and had so much fun with it. I also downloaded lots of cartoons and movies.

I would've given this product review 5 stars but gave it 4 because I feel this wireless adapter should be inside every Xbox 360 or be cheaper than $100.00 USD! -

Works like it says, is expensive
by isaacw06 on November 20, 2007
Pros: Simple to install, works well on my home network
Cons: Expensive! Seems unnecessary to have to spend money on it

A neat toy if you have gadget lust.
by apw76006 on October 1, 2007

Summary: The device works as promised but honestly, what was I thinking. I would have been better served buying a power line network adapter to rent movies from XBOX Live Marketplace as downloading a movie over a wireless connection is slow. Small previews and trailers download well, and using the device as a means of connecting to friends for chat is bueno. It all depends on your needs.
