With the upcoming movie Iron Man, Paramount is resurrecting a 1960s comic strip, but the special effects are anything but vintage. CNET News.com's Kara Tsuboi talked with the visual-effects wizards at Industrial Light & Magic about pushing the limits of computer-generated images in the film.
Microsoft's board reportedly met Wednesday, but apparently came to no conclusions as to whether the company will launch a proxy fight, walk away, or bump its initial bid beyond its recently released trial balloon of $32 to $33 a share.
And more than a year after Vista's mainstream release, Microsoft says it has improved the operating system in the key areas of application compatibility, reliability, battery life, and performance. But it still faces an uphill battle to win over consumers.
