The HP Color LaserJet 1600 family is a basic color laser printer designed for home users or very small workgroups with light printing needs. The 2600n and the 1600 both feature 264MHz processors and 16MB of memory (the memory cannot be expanded). Both ship with a single 250-sheet input tray and a 125-sheet output tray; a second 250-sheet input tray is optional. Both printers have a rated output of 8ppm for black or color.

This unit prints at 600dpi.
Pros:
This printer supports color at a resolution of 600 dpi x 600 dpi.
At 250 sheets, without optional media trays, the HP Color Laserjet 1600 can handle more printouts without refilling than would many comparable printers.
Cons:
Only prints at 8 ppm speed, which is somewhat slower than some similarly priced lasers.
For example, the
Ricoh Aficio SP C210
, at around $290, prints at 31 ppm speed.
This laser printer does not support duplex printing.
Suitability:
Built for those who need high volume color printing.
This printer can handle A4 (8.25 in x 11.7 in) documents.
Value:
Overall, this laser printer's features are in line with its price.
