The good: The Canon Pixma MP500 features excellent photo and text printing, built-in card readers and a PictBridge port, and individual ink tanks, including pigment-based black for text.
The bad: The Canon Pixma MP500's color scan quality is mediocre, and you have to buy your own USB cable.
The bottom line: Families and digital photo hobbyists should consider the well-designed Canon Pixma MP500 for prints, but we were disappointed by its mediocre color film scans.
