JavaScript 
A scripting language developed by Netscape that allows programmers to create interactive elements and dynamic content for Web pages. Widely supported by Microsoft and Netscape browsers and other Web tools, JavaScript code is embedded in HTML pages. JavaScript was initially based on Sun Microsystem's Java, and it shares many of the features and structures of that programming language.
