Many people will argue that 2008 was the "year of the PlayStation 3," and there's plenty to back up that claim. Sony finally got an extensive and functional video and gaming marketplace up and running as well as rolling out a highly anticipated update to the system's firmware. The PlayStation 3 also shined this year in the exclusive release department. Games like Metal Gear Solid 4, LittleBigPlanet, and Resistance 2 solidified the console as a legitimate platform.
