What operating systems do you prefer?

Microsoft Windows XP (914 laptops, starting at $344) The previous-generation of Windows is still sold on current laptops because it's a stable, functional OS that requires fewer resources than Windows Vista.
Microsoft Windows Vista (3201 laptops, starting at $399) Microsoft's latest operating system adds some new bells, whistles, and functionality, but it can be a drain on system resources.
- Windows Vista Home Basic (269 laptops, starting at $439) The least-expensive version doesn't include the fancy Aero graphics interface but requires less-powerful hardware to operate.
- Windows Vista Home Premium (1771 laptops, starting at $420) Adds Windows multimedia apps, the Media Center shell (for browsing music, photos, and video with a remote control), and the Aero graphics interface.
- Windows Vista Business (1007 laptops, starting at $500) Includes security features not found on either Home version of Vista.
- Windows Vista Ultimate (87 laptops, starting at $792) Combines the multimedia features of the home versions with the added security features of the business version.
- Any version of Vista is fine (3201 laptops, starting at $399)
